Appalachia
Appalachia is a stranded color work hat designed to show off variegated sock yarn. While the example shows yarn with long color repeats, yarn with short color repeats, or another solid color would look just as good. The pattern is fairly easy to adjust for different yarn weights as well.

One skein of Malabrigo Sock, fingering weight, 440yrds/ 402m, (100% Merino) in Chocolate Amargo MC
One skein of Mini Mochi, fingering weight, 195yrds/ 180m, (80% Merino, 20% Nylon) in Lake Trail CC
Needles
Size 2/ 2.75 mm, 12in/ 30cm circular needles
Size 3/ 3.25mm, 12in/ 30cm circular needles
Gauge
Knitting: 27sts/31rows = 4x4in/10x10 cm stockinette with size 3/ 3.25mm needles.
