Elven Hero

Need a hat to have an adventure in? Look no further. The Elven Hero hat is your hat. The Elven Hero hat is perfect for any enemy smoting, princess saving adventure you might have.
To achieve marauding outlaw look, use brown yarn. If you'd rather create a Santa look, use white yarn for the brim and red yarn for the main body of the hat. A white pom pom could also be added.

The hat is constructed by provisionally casting on the brim edge. The brim is grafted together, then folded over to make it double thick and well fitted. Stitches are picked up along the edge of the brim to complete the rest of the hat body.

Circumference: 18in/ 45.5cm (20in/51cm, 22in/ 56cm)
Stretches easily to fit up to a 20in/51cm (22in/ 56cm, 24in/ 61cm) head
Length from brim to crown: 16.5in/ 42cm (17in/ 43cm, 17.5in/ 44.5cm)

Materials

One skein of Cascade 220 Heathers, worsted weight, 220yds/ 200m, (100% Peruvian Highland Wool) in: 2429 (Irelande)

Needles/Hooks

Size 7/ 4.5mm, 12in/ 30.5cm circular needles and dpns
Two extra circular needles that are close to the size 7/ 4.5mm for picking up stitches on either side of the brim
Size F/ 3.75mm hook or similar size for provisional cast on
